Since 1979, Dr. Chenoweth has served as president of Health Management associates, a division of Chenoweth & Associates, Inc. Health Management Associates, or HMA, is an econometric data analysis and evaluation firm. HMA provides customized econometric analyses such as medical claims data analysis, risk factor costing, break-even analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, forecasting, and benefit-cost appraisal. During this timeframe he has also served as professor and director of the worksite health promotion option at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He has written several text and trade books on worksite health promotion, health care cost management, and program evaluation.

He has given nearly 500 presentations to public and private sector entities and is a Fellow of the Association for Worksite Health Promotion.
